Bio

Dr. Laura Strong has always had a passion for the care and companionship of animals. When she was in the 6th grade, she decided to become a veterinarian, and with the support and encouragement from her family, she pursued that dream. Dr. Strong fell in love with the Eastside community when she began working at the hospital during her high school years. She graduated from the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. In 1988, she joined the practice and her uncle, founding veterinarian James E. Howard, DVM. As the past medical director and visionary for Eastside Animal Hospital, Dr. Strong’s goal for Eastside was to create a space where lives were made better for pets, people, and team members. Her loves (outside the practice) include spending time with her husband, David, their son and daughter in law, Michael and Caroline, and daughter, Sarah. Her animal companions are faithful Doberman Argo, Whippet Sonni, Dachshund Jaco, fearless feline-friend One, and horses Harley, Rocket, and Stuart. Grand-dog Olive and grand-cat Hendrix are very much enjoyed too!
