Dr. Sarah Shea Gatewood was born and raised in Frankfort, KY. She has loved animals and insects ever since she could first walk. After completing a bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Kentucky, she attended Auburn University for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. For her, the best part of being a veterinarian is helping people by caring for their pets. She believes it is important to practice with compassion and integrity to help those animals who cannot speak for themselves. Her particular passion lies in ultrasonography and soft tissue surgery. When she is not working, she loves spending time outdoors and hanging with her golden retriever, Bentley, and her family. Her other leisurely activities include riding horses, reading, wakeboarding, and surfing.
